We are very fortunate to live near water. Although technically, the Detroit River is the closest, it’s only minutes down County Road 20 before you can take in the view of Lake Erie.
Some things you can see on the trip with the naked eye…
- Fermi 2 Power Plant
- Pelee Passage
- Pelee Island
- The Jiimaan and/or the Pelee Islander
- Amherstburg Coast Guard Station and coast guard boats going in and out – so far this summer, we’ve seen the Cove Isle, Cape Dundas, Caribou Isle, Griffon, Kelso, Limnos, Private Robertson V.C., and the Samuel Risley. Bonus points when you catch them out working
- The tip at Point Pelee
- Sister and Bass Islands
- all kinds of commercial ships headed to their destinations
- and, of course, all kinds of recreational water vehicles
And yet, just when you think you have a grip of things, you find this!
Please share your thoughts here. I’d enjoy reading them.
