doug — off the record

just a place to share some thoughts

Where in the World?

A quick head nod to Philip Cummings for pointing me to Quizzity.

I really enjoy geography games / quizzes and so this is a nice addition to my collection.

It’s a simple premise.

You’re given a city, country and all that you have to do is drop a pin where you think it is.

I didn’t do too badly on Paris, France.

But, I’m the first to admit; this virtual worldly traveler has a great deal of learning to do!

Check it out and see how well you do.  If you’re inclined, the source code is available on Github.  Even if you don’t intend to make your own version, it’s interesting to see what goes into the creation and how it relies on other web resources for its success.

  1. I immediately thought of you when I saw the game, Doug. I haven’t had time to play with it much yet, but I plan to once #edcampMEM wraps this afternoon.

  2. Spotted this yesterday from Free Tools, and thought of you right away. I’m in report card hell, so haven’t checked it out yet! Thanks for exploring for me. 😉
