Time for a new desktop image

The time has never been better for those who like to customize their computer desktop background. I can’t take credit for this other than being connected to the right people; this time it was Danny Nicholson.

As I was looking at my Facebook feed this morning, I paused and looked at his post. Genius, insightful!

I think we’ve all, at one point or another, have customized our computer and our desktop. Danny had taken one of those images from the James Web Space Telescope that we’ve seen so much of recently and made that his desktop background. Genius!

Computer retailers typically come with a collection of images that you might use but imagine grabbing a real-non-photoshopped version just days after they’ve been released to the general public for us to enjoy.

It’s not hard to find them; they’re in news stories everywhere but you can download the originals from the link above if you’re a purist!

The only challenge is determining which one you would want to use.

But, it’s not just those that might interest you. This week, we’re going to be in for some spectacular imagery from the supermoon if you’re looking for something a little closer. I know that, when I went out to the rec room at 4:30 this morning, it was shining so brightly.

So, if you’re looking for something a little different to spruce up your computer, check something really current!

Setting the Desktop Background

Download the image/images that you want and store them where you won’t forget them! I have a folder on my computers just called Desktop Images. It makes finding them a piece of cake. I look for the biggest, highest definition one that I can find.

Windows 11 – Start, Settings, Personalization, Background, Background Image

Macintosh – System Preferences, Desktop & Screensaver

ChromeOS – Right-click desktop and select Set Wallpaper & Style

Ubuntu – System Settings, Background
