Sunday

Technology Troubleshooting

I like to play word games and my morning routine involves Wordle, WordHurdle, Canuckle, and Crazy Phrase. Later, if I have time I’ll play Octordle, Quordle, and Dohdle.

Using the Vivaldi browser, the backspace key functions differently from any other browser and does a page back instead of a backspace one character.

Fortunately, Vivaldi is so configurable!

Look what I made

With all the Wordle craze, I of course blogged about it earlier but also created a Wakelet of all the Wordle clones I could find. Once created, I’ve been adding to it daily, it seems. I guess it’s presumptuous to think I could do it all in one session. It certainly has taken the online world by storm

Whatever happened to …

… Mother’s Pizza?

Long before I became converted to the various unique pizza places in Essex County, there was only one place to go.

It was during university days and the destination was Mother’s Pizza. Whether it was in Kitchener-Waterloo or London or Windsor, you could place an order and get the same pizza. They had a perfect corporate product and all the restaurants looked pretty much the same. The hanging lamps just told you that you were at Mother’s. Of course, to go along with the pizza, you had to have a root beer float.

We were pleasantly surprised when we moved to Essex County and found that there was a Mother’s restaurant here in Windsor as well – right on Ouellette Avenue. We made trips there; it was affordable and predictable – every bit as good as any other location that we’d been to before.

Sadly, there was a time when Mother’s Pizza went away.

So, for a Sunday morning, how is your pizza memory?

  • Have you ever dined at a Mother’s restaurant? Where?
  • Do you have a go to place when it’s pizza night?
  • There are a number of pizza franchises that have popped up. The big one around here is Little Caesar’s but there are others. Which ones do you know?
  • Pineapple on pizza? Yea or nay?
  • Have you ever enjoyed a root beer float? From where?
  • Has the restaurant where you go in and sit down to eat been replaced by the takeout type of store?
  • What business took over the place of the Mother’s pizza where you used to go?
