One of the more powerful things about social media is its ability to connect and reconnect people.
A couple of months ago, I reconnected with a childhood acquaintance, Jim Overboe. He is an associate professor at Laurier University. Obviously, he’s done his research and found out that I was involved in education as well and asked me to pass this along.
Friends and colleagues of his have created a resource and a book “We Move Together“.
We Move Together is a bold and colourful exploration of all the ways that people navigate through the spaces around them and a celebration of the relationships we build along the way. We Move Together follows a mixed-ability group of kids as they creatively negotiate everyday barriers and find joy and connection in disability culture and community.
To accompany the book, his connections have created a free 62 page resource kit. Jim has asked a number of his connections to make their networks know of it.
So, here’s my post. You can download the resource here:

If you have this book in your classroom or there’s a copy in your school library, it would be very helpful to share this to get the most from the book.
Don’t have the book? It’s on sale here.
