A couple of

Tenilles!

If you’d asked me before this month if I knew a singer by the name of Tennille, I would have immediately responded with … yes!

Digging back, way back, I remember The Captain and Tennille.

Who could forget that hat?

But, this month, there has been not one, but two Tenilles performing on Stingray music. I always have music on in the background when I’m blogging or doing other computer work. It keeps me focused.

To be honest, I don’t always pay a great deal of attention to the names as they’re displayed on the screen. But, with the loss of Kobe Bryant, the song Jersey on the Wall (I’m Just Asking) really caught my attention.

The artist is Tenille Townes. It is such a beautiful song.

Later, I heard another “new to me” voice and holy cow, it was another Tenille. This time, Tenille Arts.

Now, just overlook the difference in spelling.

Of course, I went and purchased both songs for my mp3 player to listen to during dog walks.

I’ll be honest; I hadn’t heard that name for a long time.

And, these two new ones are Canadian too. How about that?

  1. Well, what a coincidence… my husband recently heard Jersey on the Wall on CBC Radio, so he added it to our Sat. night playlist (the one we listen to before Stephen opens The Dock 🙂 ). We aren’t big country fans, but we found this one pleasing. We will check out the music of the other Tenille tonight! It really is a pretty name, but yes, maybe too close of an association to the Tennille with two N’s for many of us?
