Niagara Falls needs a dog

I’m really enjoying the new theme for this blog. I’ve actually had some people go out of their way to let me know that they like it too. That’s a good thing.

The only drawback is that I’m feeling kind of badly that I’m using the stock photo that WordPress offers. It’s really well done. I’m in Niagara Falls and who can think of a place that more photos have been taken? Surely, I could take a picture here.

From my hotel room, I could actually see the falls.

Well, maybe that’s not such a good idea!

Even though I’m not dog walking since he’s not here, my wake up wasn’t affected. I wondered about taking a photo looking up the street.

A colourized photo wouldn’t cut it so I made it black and white to fit in with the theme that I have chosen. I’m really getting into dark mode these days.

Not too bad, I suppose.

But I had to smile. Later in the day, this would be a very busy street and you’d never be able to take this picture.

I can now though. No cars, buses, trucks and no dogs and their walkers either!

I keep searching.

  1. Reading this post, I keep thinking, you’re a far better photographer than me! 🙂 I like this updated building picture for your new theme (which I love, by the way). If you’re still stuck on the falls though, maybe you just need a dinner trip up to The Keg. I keep thinking of Tim King’s photograph from there a few years ago. Amazing!!

    Have a great conference!

  2. I enjoyed comparing the two photos. Very cool what the black and white one enhances. Would some cropping improve the perspective and help your decision? Some off the bottom (less cars) and a little off the top? 🙂
