A smart citizenry

I never fail to be amazed by how smart the community of Twitter users that I follow truly is.  I’ve mentioned many times that I use Hootsuite to track people and, in particular

It’s a rare moment when I flip to that open screen and don’t find something new and engaging.  It’s a constant source of inspiration and learning.  So, thanks to all that contribute.  You are truly “active”.

There’s only one thing missing though.  It’s one thing to find an interesting article but it’s quite another to find stories that spark the imagination and interest in an entire community of learners.

As a single person, I can see when a story that I share is hitting the mark.  You see your own messages being retweeted or favourited.  That luxury doesn’t really apply to others.

That is, until I discovered and started using Nuzzel

Given access to my Twitter account, it does some heavy duty digging and analytics, in a number of ways.

It’s not just a summary of stories.  It’s a summary of the stories around the activity behind the stories.  For example, here’s one from this morning.

Right off the bat, I can see the story and the reaction to it.  Much smarter minds than mine analyse and share the best.

Have you ever considered checking out what the smart citizens of your community are sharing?

For me, it’s a reminder of how smart those are that I follow.
