Phishing for Literacy Advice

Yesterday, I read an article from PCWorld entitled “4 Security Tips Spurred by Recent Phishing Attacks on Gmail, Hotmail, and Yahoo“.  The last comment at the time summed up one person’s thoughts.

Au contraire.  In the last sentence, the author quotes advice from Trend Micro.

I smiled when I thought of the literacy advice there.  By educating our students in spelling and grammar, it appears that we may be teaching them out of a job.  If they remain illiterate, they could get a job writing phishing emails!  Digging into my Gmail phishing basket…

You just can’t write that if you’re literate.
