Hi Doug.
So I was once at teacher for GECDSB - for a short time. Grew up in the area too. During the one year I taught at PEPS I took many PD courses from you. That was almost ten years ago now and I can still find my Canada-Japan webquest online. Talk about cutting edge stuff ten years ago! I very much enjoyed the PD back then so thanks for the learning. As it turns out, in this small world, I found your blog on the blog of one of my classmates in the MA program at the University of Calgary: thinking in mind by Neil Stephenson. So, here I am, educating in Calgary, working on an MA and finding people from the past who helped me with my educating!
Cheers Doug!

For more ideas or just to add links check out http://www.mofikiworldwide.com/blog.php There are blogs there about website design, development, Search engine optimization, and hosting. Most of these blogs are tutorials that you can repost just be sure to reference the page you get them from if adding them to your blog. Again thank you for this blog.

I have used this product for many years. It is the most powerful of all the products of this type. In reality it is almost all of the CS4. Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 has gone to great efforts to make it easy to use.

Well put, Doug. I, too, am amazed daily by what exists and what potentials are inherent within them. As my Twitter network grows, I too, have realized the power of collaboration and have been welcomed whole heartedly to discussions without prejudice. The students feel this, too, the digital learnings space is strong!

Hi, Doug

Great day, overall by the way - thanks for all the hard work.

I learned a lot and came away with a lot of reflection.

I just posted part one of my reflection on my blog in regards to the stylings of David Jakes - http://wp.me/pJ4jF-h

Later, I am going to post some of the more useful web 2.0 tools and gadgets that were discussed along with some usages for each in the classroom.

Cheers.

Although I no longer work as an IT consultant for my school board (I`ve gone over to the dark side as a principal), I still follow many tech innovators on Twitter or in my RSS feed and share many of the ideas with my staff. 6 years ago, a group of us headed up by Ross Isenegger created a group of IT consultants in Northeastern Ontario. We`d meet twice a year in Sudbury to talk tech, share ideas and exchange thoughts. These were some of the best PD sessions I attended as we shared many of the same thoughts and ideas. I think the group has since disbanded which is a shame because there really was a need for these regular get-togethers.

The online group of educators that I follow via Twitter and blogs is truly a PLN, and the most valuable learning that I do from day to day happens there. Between the geography of where I live and being on leave this year, having access to the ideas and suggestions of such a forward-thinking bunch has helped me think about my return to school in many new ways. It is very true what you say - the group is flexible and open and the participants are always willing to answer questions. It also helps that some express their feelings about being the "only one" trying to move forward. Knowing that makes it much easier to envision the future in my own classroom. Thanks, Doug and everyone else!
