Wow

I guess that’s about the best word that I can think of to describe Day 1 of the 2012 ECOO Conference.

From a thought provoking keynote address from John Seely Brown to teaching people how to deal with QR codes to really getting insights to some of the workings of Google with Jaime Casap to dealing with a sudden loss of internet access to the sudden revival of internet access to tracking a panelist who left Thunder Bay at 4:30 in the morning for a flight to Toronto that involved a stop over in Ottawa to tearing apart four salons to set up a stage for a panel discussion to learning how to play Rockstar to trending on Twitter to being spammed on Twitter to a retirement dinner, I think I pretty much did it all yesterday.

In so much that those things were milestones throughout the day, the opportunity to meet new people and renew old acquaintances and friendships made the day go well over the top for me.

For the Twitter part, I was going to create a Storify here but quite frankly, the volume just made it too intense of an activity.  If you want to read the great discussions, just follow the hashtag #ECOO12.  The quality of the commenting and the insights are just an indication of the serious learning that was happening at the conference.

I just don’t know how else to describe the day except for “Wow”.

I can’t wait until tomorrow when we can pick it up again.
