Plan B

Sadly, yesterday generated a reply from a friend of mine who had applied to go to “a conference” (hopefully, it was ECOO) and was denied due to lack of funds.  That really is a shame when you have someone ready, willing, and able to learn.

In the post, I also alluded to the use of Social Media as a way to facilitate learning as well.

Sometimes, it just isn’t possible to be there face to face.  It may be because:

  • lack of funding;
  • no supply coverage;
  • family and other commitments;
  • huge, long distances to travel.

All are legitimate concerns.  What do you do instead?  What’s your Plan B?

Turn to the social media and your friends.  That’s what.

How does it work?

@knolinfos shared a great YouTube video that explains the dynamics of social media.  I like the way that it addresses both face to face communication and face to everybody else communication.

If you’re not able to attend in person, make sure that you follow the conference Twitter feed.  #ECOO12
