What’s a holiday if you can’t have a parade? Well, go ahead and create your own at http://isparade.jp/.
The site takes a few minutes to load here with my less than blistering fast internet speeds but it’s worth it! Enter a Twitter ID or a keyword and sit back to watch the parade. Take more than just a moment though. Watch the individual parade participants.
So, in honour of today’s Canadian Holiday, here’s my own personal Victoria Day Parade. If you can, click on a participant to see their last tweet.
It’s a great morning in Windsor, Ontario. The Windsor Spitfires have won the Memorial Cup. The final game was played last night and the Spitfires beat the Brandon Wheat Kings.
Was there ever any doubt?
At 9-1, the final game wasn’t exactly a cliff hanger, but enjoyable all the same. Social media played a role in the final game as well. In addition to watching the game on Sportsnet, you could also follow along and participate in a live blog of the game. The Windsor Start live blogged using Coveritlive so that you could interact with other fans during the event.
In fact, if you missed the game or if you would like to relive the experience, the live blog remains online.
The bottom line here is that the Windsor Spitfires are the Memorial Cup Champions. The best of the Junior teams from Canada and the United States play for this moment and for two years in a row, it’s been Windsor.
