For quite some time now, it has been rumoured that Google is about to get into the web browser business. But, it’s been very quiet from what I have seen and there were just rumours roaming around about what it might look like.
The problem with web browsing is that some sites require a certain set of plug-ins while other sites require other plug-ins. This forces you to download and install things to make it work.
Folks look for the magic bullet and try out Internet Explorer, Firefox, Flock, Safari, Opera, Camino, … only to find that these good browsers don’t always take you to the top floor. Thankfully, they have included hooks that will allow third party developers to install their player so that you can enjoy the site.
While it’s quick and easy to install a Flash player or Acrobat reader, each one opens the possibility of additional security problems.
Wouldn’t it be nice if you just had one browser that did everything?
Just today, the comic in this post has created quite a stir that something might be up. Blogoscoped even outlines details about what this browser might look like and act like.
The author of the comic tells us that the comic was released early. Is Wednesday really the date?
