I signed up for the preview of AT&T’s Pogo Browser. It sounded really intriguing. Imaging browsing the web in 3D. It was the sort of thing that web dreams are made of and the promise was an experience that couldn’t be had in other ways.
So, I signed up and got one of the limited invites and downloaded the large install package.
And installed it. It took a LONG time and I had a computer that met it’s hefty installation requirements.
Go to run it under Microsoft Vista and crash, crash, crash. It didn’t matter how I tried to run it, I got the infamous crash message and let’s see if Microsoft has an idea. Nope.
So, I did give it the ol’ college try over the course of a few days but could never get it to even load.
So, this morning, I’m removing it. The uninstaller is up to three hours uninstalling. I’ve had time to vacuum my car during the uninstall process. I just loaded up another browser to see if I’m unique in my problems.
Interesting article here.
I can’t even venture an opinion yet on this new web experience. At this point, I can’t even get it to run.
It sounds like a great concept and I wish them well. My computer and I aren’t ready for it yet.
